Let's be real - There's a lot of advice out there about what you need to do to be a successful freelance video editor. But here's the truth:
Half of it is irrelevant to you RIGHT NOW.
Instead of trying to learn everything, know what you need to learn and what you can ignore in this endless noise of how to’s and tutorials coming at you from all sides

Calling all beginner video editors! Sure you might be learning HOW to edit. But what about WHERE you'd be working when you can get a job!
Today I'm chatting about the actual types of companies or scenarios that can make you money as a video editor, both for beginners and beyond!

I think the core that often gets missed is that networking really is (or should be) centered around making genuine connections with people.
That’s where one of the biggest issues lies bc as a society that is continuing to get more socially awkward everyday, we really don’t want to talk to people unless we A - like them and B - are getting something out of it.
So therefore you end up with networking events that revolve around only talking to people to pitch them something or to see what you can get out of them!
I’m sure that’s not everybody, but chances are if you’re watching this you'd like to improve your networking skills so you can use networking as a tool. But let’s just keep in mind that the networking is the tool, and it’s not going to turn us into a tool.
